My lifestyle Change

Back in January of this year, CJ my husband, went through major health problems. He suddenly became lactose intolerant & super intolerant of gluten. We went to the emergency because he became very dehydrated due to feeling so ill. For about a couple weeks before or so CJ was nauseous all the time and wouldn't eat or drink and was also extremely lethargic. When he went to the doctor he told him he had gastritis and prescribed him some meds.Worked a little bit but he still ended up in the hospital. After months of research and blood tests the only thing they found was that they didn't know what happened to him. Later when he did his own research as to what happened, he told me he believes he had Celiac Disease and would, "bet the house" that it was that. The doctors believe it was just a bad case of food poisoning back in December and his body is taking a long time to recover.
With all that said,  His parents suggested we change our diet so on Jan 15th we threw out all our junk food, grains, legumes, and sugary beverages. They were big Primal and Paleo followers and let us borrow your book, "The Primal Blueprint." We started a lifestyle change that really helped CJ through out his recovering stomach and also help us be more healthy. Another reason I personally wanted to do it was back in November of 2010 we took health screenings test as part of CJ's medical insurance program. I was overweight, like I always have been, and when they checked my sugar levels in my blood they told me I was pre-diabetic. My family has a bad history of diabetes so that really got me thinking. With gaining more knowledge of the Primal Lifestyle from CJs parents and reading about it on marksdailyapple.com website, we learned the benifits of that change. I lost over 35 pounds in half a year in diet alone! Goes to show how horrible our eating habits were.

BEFORE :(
This Picture was taken Dec. 2009. I was at my heaviest. We had just recently gotten married. I very stressed since I lost my job and I was going to school full-time. All excuses, but I just stuck to them. I was considered an "emotional eater". Growing up I didn't have a good diet to begin with. My family has horrible eating habits and are overweight so I just went with it. Tortillas anyone? lol

The picture on the right was taken Jan 2011. It was at my mom's birthday party. CJ was starting to become very sick at this time. This was me ever since highschool.
